On November 26, the municipality of Luciana (Ciudad Real) will host the I Conference on good care of the elderly, under the theme “Local wisdom”.
This meeting, organized by Luciana Social Services in collaboration with the town hall, seeks to promote the role of older people as pillars of rural communities and guardians of local identity.
Throughout the day, reflection, learning and coexistence activities will be developed involving various entities and professionals involved in the well-being of older people.
The participation of the provincial delegate of social protection, Eulalio Díaz-Cano Sánchez Orejón, the head of the service and the head of the social action section of the provincial delegation of social protection of Ciudad Real, as well as the head of the social protection service The social action of Ciudad Real, stands out the Ministry of Social Protection, María Jesús del Real Pascual.
In addition, will be present the Association of the Elderly of Luciana, Cruz Roja Ciudad Real, GAL Entreparques, Servicios Sociales de Luciana and Jamones NICO as collaboratorall united to make this day a tribute to our elders.
Programming
10:00 – Welcome of participants
10:30 a.m. – Reception and institutional table. Opening of the days by the authorities, emphasizing the importance of these meetings in a rural context.
11:00 a.m. – Presentation of GAL Entreparques. Strategy for support and inclusion of older people in the region.
11:30 a.m. – “Listening to you”: Space for reflection on good care for the elderly. A workshop to explore “local wisdom” and rediscover the value of elders in our lives.
12:30 p.m. – Breakfast offered by the Town Hall, with the collaboration of Jamones Nico.
1:00 p.m. – Red Cross first aid workshop. First aid training, with participation open to participants of all ages.
1:30 p.m. – “Almas entre Ríos” photography exhibition. Directed by Ángel Navas Becerro, this graphic report captures the customs and faces of Luciana’s elderly, illustrating their cultural and personal richness.
2:00 p.m. – Lunch. “Around the stove, make good friends”, a typical dish offered by the Town Hall and prepared by the Luciana Elders Association, to share and enjoy in the community.
4:30 p.m. – Laughter therapy workshop. An activity to end the day with joy and reinforce well-being through laughter and good humor.
The First Elderly Care Days in Luciana honor the elderly of our community, recognizing them as authentic treasures of our history and fundamental assets in rural life. We hope that this event will be the start of greater involvement and appreciation for our elders, to build together a future that honors their lives and their legacy.
