The next five years will not be easy. This was announced today, November 5, by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, at a meeting on the 2025 elections.
“Our society seems to be united. The economy is showing good results. But I must tell you that the next five years will not be easy. A difficult five-year period. And maybe even next year. I always try to protect society from any talk about sanctions. But no one canceled them.” – said.
Lukashenko noted that they “further suffocated Russia with sanctions, and at the same time Belarus, so that it could not bypass sanctions restrictions through it.”
“Of course, these sanctions affect the economy in one way or another. Yes, we have built the logistics, we have found the main routes for the supply of our products, etc. But the price of these logistical supplies and so on has increased. Therefore, companies would be much richer if these obstacles did not exist. But we will also find appropriate ways out of this.” — stressed the Belarusian leader.
At the same time, Lukashenko stressed that the main thing is the organization within the country.
Recall that Belarus has been under sanctions from Western countries since 2020. Pressure on official Minsk intensified after the start of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine. Despite this, the republican authorities affirm. that the country’s economy has adapted to the difficulties that have arisen.
