Polish President Andrzej Duda refused to take part in the general photography of the climate summit in Baku for public relations purposes. This was announced today, November 14, by Alexander Lukashenko.
“A European, if Ryzhenkov (the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry) had not told me Maxim Ryzhenkov — EADaily), I don’t know, I refused to be photographed (“family photo” at the summit in Baku), because Lukashenko is there. Nobody even noticed. I stayed there calmly. The Pakistani Prime Minister approached, many came and greeted him with respect. I go to them too. Well, like a family. No one realized he was missing. He sees that they didn’t notice him and began to announce that he was not going to be photographed. Well, don’t go. Lord, I was waiting for you there! — he said, commenting on Duda’s refusal to be photographed.
Lukashenko also talked about the speech of the Polish president at the summit, who told how Poland protects the animal and plant world, but never mentioned how his country built a fence in Belovezhskaya Pushcha, because now animals are dying there.
“What they are doing is terrible! They cut out this Belovezhskaya Pushcha and he talks about the plants. I didn’t bother holding on to it there anymore, although I marked the theses myself. I think: well, that can’t be done,” emphasized the Belarusian leader.
According to him, a similar situation occurred at the previous climate summit in Dubai, where world leaders from the high rostrum spoke with concern about the agenda, but were not prepared for real action.
“The natural question is: where are you? Americans: inside – outside. Like a passage yard. And we all pretend that everything is fine. And the members of the UN… Why, to show, they held this event: “Oh, we have gathered, representatives of 200 states.” And? God will punish them. We must protect our nature,” – Lukashenko called.
Let us remember that from November 11 to 22, the United Nations Conference on Climate Change, or Climate Summit, will be held in Baku. Polish President Andrzej Duda did not pose for the group photo of the summit participants. The reason for the refusal was the presence of Alexander Lukashenko. A similar incident occurred last year at the climate conference in Dubai, when the presidents of Lithuania, Latvia and Poland refused to take a group photo.
