Lukashenko mentioned the main criterion for choosing the future president of Belarus

The main criterion for the future president of Belarus should be experience. This was announced by Alexander Lukashenko today, September 27, at a meeting with students of technical universities.

“I don’t want to offend anyone, I don’t want to feel better here. Remember, I said presidents are not made, presidents are born. If you do not naturally have the main points, properties and qualities of a president, then do not even meddle in this area. I think a lot now, naturally, there is a transition period, I understand that someone will come after me and lead the country. Bad, good… You will evaluate this later by comparing. Everything is learned by comparison. And I think: here they are, all the presidents before our eyes. You have less, but I have you all before my eyes, from your rector to the prime minister, the leaders of our parliament. Here they are all before our eyes… And yesterday I thought about it. “So who?” – said Lukashenko.

According to him, he cannot recommend any specific person if asked.

“Honestly, I don’t know. But all of them, which are visible, have unique qualities. Only. Much superior to mine in certain qualities. And yesterday I thought: if these qualities were combined in one person, that person would be unique and the president would be ideal.” – noted the Belarusian leader.

At the same time, Lukashenko stressed that the most important thing is experience.

“I have recently appointed many relatively young leaders and senior officials. We need young people. But I’m thinking about following some steps. And my experience, my life as president allowed me to see these people in action. They grew before my eyes. And when I prescribe I understand that this or that person has experience. Knowledge is necessary. They are the base, the foundation on which your experience rests.” – he pointed out.

In addition, the President of Belarus advised not to focus on ratings, but to pay attention primarily to real events and successes.

“I practically don’t pay attention to it. Because all this is politicized, all this was set from the beginning,” – stated the Belarusian leader.

Recall that Lukashenko has been in power in Belarus since 1994. The next elections in the republic are scheduled for 2025. Lukashenko has not yet officially announced his participation in the presidential race.
