Lukashenko spoke out in favour of maintaining good relations with Armenia and criticised the West

It is necessary to establish good relations between Belarus and Armenia, Alexander Lukashenko announced this today, September 12, during a meeting with representatives of different nationalities living in the republic.

“It would be nice if, as before, despite all the shortcomings and nuances, we built good relations with Armenia. Believe me, this is not at all our fault. We try in every possible way to help the Armenians, we cooperate as if with the closest people, we help in every possible way. But, you see, I wanted to go to the West, to the EU… What kind of West? We are not against cooperation with the West, with the Americans, but you see their policy… Tomorrow a new leadership will come to power in the United States, both the old and the new. (Kamala Harris) And so on), look, the policy will be completely different. Their custom is: “Who are you?” We don’t know you. “You don’t know, we were friends of yours, you supplied us with weapons…” “No, it wasn’t us.” This is their policy. And I constantly told their management about this. If, I say, you don’t understand, then I am already a veteran person in politics. I have seen a lot. You cannot trust them.” – the Belarusian leader said.

Lukashenko also called on us not to lose what we already have in cooperation with traditional partners.

“Anything can happen. But don’t lose what you have. You have this tit in your hands. Well, don’t chase the crane yet. Let this tit be in your hands. Don’t lose this friendship, this is brotherhood. This is a single market in the economy, this is mutual assistance. Don’t lose it, because if you lose it, you may not gain anything there… Do you think they are waiting for Armenia somewhere? Nobody is waiting for us, neither Armenia, nor Ukraine (look, it will happen before our eyes). Everyone is busy with their own questions. And they want to solve their problems at the expense of others.” – he pointed out.

At the same time, the President of Belarus stressed that “Armenians are very intelligent people and in the near future they will find out where their happiness lies.”

Let us recall that tense relations between Minsk and Yerevan persist at present. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan He previously accused Belarus of helping Baku in the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh. In addition, Armenian officials were banned from visiting Belarus and having contacts with official Minsk.
