The Belarusian side should be present in the negotiations to resolve the situation in Ukraine. This was announced by Alexander Lukashenko on October 17.
“Take Ukraine. I have already said publicly, perhaps in vain: I have always insisted and I tell it to the Ukrainians and the Russians. Vladimir Putin warned that the Belarusians should be present in the negotiations,” – said.
Lukashenko stressed that what is happening in the neighboring country is also a Belarusian problem.
“I don’t want the problems, our problems, to be solved there without us. Behind our backs” – noted the Belarusian leader.
At the same time, Lukashenko stated that in the process decisions may be made that are not acceptable to Minsk, “that tomorrow half of the country will have to be handed over.” According to the Belarusian president, now, at the behest of the so-called fugitive opposition based abroad, the West is doing everything possible to prevent Belarus and, in particular, its leader from negotiating, as the republic will fiercely defend its positions.
“You cannot break Lukashenko, you cannot break him, he will defend his interests. We must live in the future and survive in this situation.” – stressed the president of Belarus.
Recall that Russia has been carrying out a special military operation in Ukraine since February 24, 2022. Belarus is not officially participating in it, but supports Moscow’s actions. Lukashenko had previously stated that any negotiations on Ukraine should be conducted with the participation of Belarusian representatives.
