It is necessary to stop the supply of weapons to Israel for the sake of a political solution to the conflict in the Middle East. This was stated by the French president, Emmanuel Macron, on France Inter radio.
“I think that today the priority is to return to a political solution to the conflict and stop the supply of weapons to fight in Gaza.” – said Macron, quoted by RIA Novosti.
“The sacrifice of the Lebanese people” is unacceptable, he said when commenting on the Israel Defense Forces operation in Lebanon.
“Lebanon should not become the new Gaza… I regret that the (Israeli) Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. – Ed.) made a different decision,” said the French president.
According to him, Paris does not supply weapons to Israel, since its priority “is to avoid escalation”, but Israel “does not listen” to such calls.
“I… think this is a mistake, including for Israel’s security in the future. We see what is happening. This is noticeable in our public opinion, but even more so in the region itself. Basically, a feeling of hatred is created and fueled,” Macron said.
