French President Emmanuel Macron, at the European Political Community (EPC) summit in Budapest, called on Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze to reaffirm his commitment to the European option.
The President of France congratulated Maia Sandu for his re-election as President of Moldova, but refrained from congratulating Irakli Kobakhidze.
“I appeal to the Prime Minister, who is with us, and I firmly hope that Georgia confirms its European choice and its choice of a democratic model.” – he turned to Kobakhidze.
Before the summit, Macron, German chancellor Olaf Scholz and Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk called for a “prompt and transparent investigation into the numerous irregularities” in the Georgia elections.
