French President Emmanuel Macron’s wife Brigitte will appear in the fourth season of the much-criticized series “Emily in Paris” in France, The Guardian reports.
The French first lady will play herself, wearing her own clothes “without instructions from the creators of the series,” which is known for the fashionable looks of its participants.
“The idea… came to us when Darren Star and I met her at the Elysée Palace in December 2022.” – said one of the project’s creators, Lily Collins.
Macron’s wife is a big fan of the series, and took the mention of herself in the first season with great humour.
The publication notes that Brigitte Macron has already appeared on screens in a cameo role: in 2018 she appeared in the French comedy series about two disabled swimmers Vestiaires (Changing Rooms). In addition, it was previously reported that a six-part biopic called Brigitte, une femme libre (Brigitte, a free woman) is currently being produced at the Gaumont film company.
The second half of the fourth season will premiere on Thursday, September 11.
