First fines for excessive noise during concerts at the Santiago Bernabéu. Madrid City Hall has started to sanction the promoters of several events that exceeded the limits authorized by municipal regulations.
The sanctions amount to 277,000 euros, according to El País and this newspaper was also able to confirm it. The most important came from the Duki concert, organized on June 8 and which will have to pay 148,000 euros for the performance and 129,000 euros for the noise emitted during rehearsals.
Manu Carrasco’s action, which took place on June 29, was fined an additional 125,000 euros by the municipal Environment Department. The rest of the sanctions are less than 30,000 euros, closer to those that the City Hall imposed on Mad Cool in 2022 for emitting excessive noise in its new room in Villaverde.
The Bernabéu has hosted 16 concerts since April. In all cases, sonic limits were exceeded, sometimes resoundingly. The sanctions are imposed on the companies that promote each performance and not on Real Madrid since, as the municipal delegate for the Environment indicated this morning, they are the ones responsible for the noise emissions.
Real Madrid has stopped the programming of concerts in its renovated stadium due to judicial abuse of neighborhood complaints: the Bernabéu Injured Neighborhood Association has filed a complaint against its general director for environmental offenses, for having allowed all these excesses in a room on his property. The first hearing of the case will take place at the end of this month.
The courts also recently canceled the construction of two large municipal car parks around the stadium, attributed to Florentino Pérez’s club and which a judge stopped for “lack of public interest”.
