HPV is a sexually transmitted viral infection and vaccination is the most effective way to prevent it, also preventing the development of possible complications. Its administration helps reduce its transmission, providing a greater protection of the community.
In the case of women, the calendar already includes vaccination up to 18 years. Thus, throughout 2023, 96 percent of girls received at least one dose and 87 percent received two. The coverage achieved among boys up to 12 years of age shows very similar figures.
