Madrid gives the green light to a 30 million euro aid plan for innovative companies and SMEs

The Community of Madrid is investing more than 30 million euros in aid to support emerging innovative companies that carry out an effective transfer of R&D&I to the productive fabric of the region.

Thus, as reported by the Minister of Presidency, Justice and Local Administration, Miguel Ángel García Martín, during its meeting this Wednesday, the Government Council took note of a report on this initiative of the Ministry of Education, Science and Universities which is channeled to through four programs and calls for grants.

Innovative start-ups and SMEs from Madrid can apply for the Seal of Excellence call, with which the Community of Madrid finances projects that participate in the European EIC Acceleration Program and which have obtained a positive evaluation but have not received funds from the European Commission.

The call for this program, to which 10 million are allocated every two years and which can grant up to 2 million per projectis open all year round and can be processed on the institutional website of the Community of Madrid.

Likewise, the Innovation checkan aid program which “promotes the transformation of traditional SMEs into companies with innovative activity and supports them throughout this process”.

In this case, the subsidies vary between 12,000 euros to finance technological monitoring studies and the 60,000 they can receive for the validation of prototypes or proofs of concept. Endowed with one million euros, they can be requested throughout the year on this link on the regional government’s internet portal.

Investment attraction projects

Furthermore, calls for projects to attract investments and liaison entities, developed during the month of September, are currently being processed. The first of these, with an investment of 15 million euros over three years, aims to contribute to improving public-private collaboration in R&D&i by supporting technological innovation projects in areas of importance for the Madrid economy, which They can receive up to 1.2 million euros.

Aid to liaison entities, for their part, involves 4.5 million euros over three years to promote technological innovation and promote technology transfer to the productive sector and can reach a maximum of 450,000 euros per project.

They are aimed at associations, confederations, innovative business groups, knowledge transfer offices, science or technology parks, business incubators, incubators and accelerators, among other intermediary agents between research and businesses.
