The Madrid Investment Forum 2024 held the third and final day on Wednesday 20 to present the advantages of the Community of Madrid as an ideal destination for foreign investments. In this case, Aranjuez was the municipality chosen, in the morning, to reflect on the motto “Madrid, global region”. From Municipalities to Latin America’, a starting point from which the presentations and round tables described what is being done and planned in the region in all types of areas, from industry to culture, with the innovation and digital transformation as an essential vector of development and social growth.

Miguel Gómez Herrero, mayor of Aranjuez, highlighted the strategic location of the municipality and the Community of Madrid, as well as the work carried out “to make them destinations where people want to go, live and invest, both for employees and SMEs as well as for large companies” and announced projects such as the construction of “more than 100,000 m2 of industrial land”. Judith Piquet, president of the Federation of Municipalities of Madrid, highlighted, for her part, the importance of the contribution of municipalities “in this window open to the world, in a privileged destination for investment and entrepreneurship”, in addition to referring to the importance of the Latin community in the region: “more than 60% of the foreign population.

Then, the table “Industry, the backbone of the Region’s municipalities” proposed a multi-sectoral approach to regional assets to promote development and therefore encourage investments. Pedro Fuster, director of defense strategy at Indra; Ricardo Olalla, vice president of sales for Bosch Mobility Solutions; Carmen Cruzado, director of Farma Ercros; Ignacio Serra, general director of Tendam and Nicolás Benito, representative of the Agri-Food Cluster of the Community of Madrid participated with their contributions on the present and future of our economy.

In the case of José Antonio Sánchez, Deputy Minister of Presidency and Local Administration of the Community of Madrid, he highlighted in his speech the work aimed at making the region “a pole of attraction for all ages , for all social sectors, with the keys necessary for competitiveness. An environment in which Sánchez summarized the actions carried out by the regional government, “quite a challenge, quite a responsibility in the face of the gradual increase in population: none of our municipalities have lost population.”

The round table “Madrid, cultural capital and gateway to Latin America” focused on the importance, in various aspects, with the participation of Eduardo Pérez Noyola, director of commercial affairs of the Fundación Casa from México in Spain; Miguel Angel Benzal, general director of Egeda; Javier Ramos, rector of Rey Juan Carlos University; Juan Miguel Sucunza, president of CEAPI and executive vice president of the Eulen Group; Ana Carmen Lavín, National Heritage delegate in Aranjuez.

In the afternoon, the Conde Duque Contemporary Culture Center (Madrid capital) opened the day with the intervention of Miguel Garrido, president of CEIM, who recalled his intervention on the opening day with the recognition of “a regional government “in which businesses” feel appreciated, cared for, loved, in an environment of richness and diversity.” And it was Miguel López Valverde, advisor for digitalization, who completed the list of nine advisors of the regional government who participated in these three days of meeting with society, insisting (constantly throughout the days) on the essential importance of public-private collaboration and the status of the Community of Madrid “as an international reference in matters of innovation and technology, something that we must disseminate more and more”.

Then, Luis Socías, general director of Invest in Madrid, presented the first “Report on the Foreign Investment Footprint of the Community of Madrid”, a “robot portrait” of the region’s performance in this area, to present “Madrid” prices. , destination of investments”. The six participating municipalities (Alcobendas, Leganés, Torrejón de Ardoz, Las Rozas, Aranjuez and Madrid) also received an award for their contribution.
