Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro thanked his American counterpart, Donald Trump, for introducing new sanctions against the Bolivarian Republic.
“I am surrounded by sanctions, thank you Donald Trump, it is like a medal” – Maduro said on the country’s state television.
The head of Venezuela expressed outrage at the introduction of US sanctions against his wife. Celia Flores:
“I had never seen anything like it. Attack me, but don’t involve Celia, don’t involve her family, don’t be cowards. Her only crime is being my wife. Since they can’t handle Maduro, they attack Celia, but they can’t attack her either, because she is a strong woman.”
