Mahir Emreli announced the reason for his transfer to European clubs

“I moved to European clubs to be an example for young Azerbaijani players. I want many players from my country to play abroad.”

Oku.Az According to Mahir Emreli, a footballer for the Azerbaijan national team and the German team in Nuremberg, this is what he said.

Speaking to the club’s press service, the striker said he is happy to live the life of a legionnaire.

“I have previously played for the teams of Croatia, Turkey and Poland. I want to properly represent Azerbaijan on the European stage. I have gotten to know the people and cultures of the countries where I played for three years. I am a very sociable person. I love meeting new people and cultures.”

The 27-year-old player stressed that Azerbaijan is a tolerant country.

“Azerbaijan is a tolerant country, people’s religious beliefs are respected, there is no discrimination against any religion. In our country there are several religious institutions, numerous mosques, churches and synagogues. For this reason, I can adapt to the cultures of other countries more quickly. Although I am Azerbaijani, I am thinking of sharing the special days and holidays of Germany, where I am currently speaking, on my social media account.”

Emreli said that he cannot forget the game they played against Chelsea from England in the UEFA Champions League when they were playing for Qarabag:

“The match we played against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in London was a historic match for us. It is true that in that match we had no chance and lost by a big score. There are three stadiums that I will never be able to forget – Borussia Dortmund (Germany), PAOK (Greece) and Rome (Italy) stadiums. I will never forget the atmosphere I saw in those stadiums.”

It should be noted that Mahir Emreli made his debut in the second round of the Bundesliga team. He came on the field in the 39th minute of the match against Herta on Matchday VI.
