The Main Military Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case against the head of the armored service of the Central Military District, Major General Denis Putilov, who is suspected of committing a crime under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (taking a bribe on an especially large scale).
As reported by the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, according to the investigation, in 2023, the Ministry of Defense, within the framework of the execution of the state defense order, concluded a number of government contracts for the repair and maintenance of military vehicles with individual entrepreneurs. ChudinovPutilov controlled the execution of these contracts, the cost of which exceeded 140 million rubles.
“In order to weaken control, obtain other privileges and preferences in the execution of state defense orders, as well as conclude new contracts in the future, Putilov received a bribe from a representative of IP Chudinov in the amount of 10 million rubles.” – indicated in the department.
They said that Putilov was detained and the question of choosing a preventive measure for him is currently being decided.
The department added that a legal assessment of the briber’s actions will be carried out as part of the criminal investigation.
