A train on the Malaga-Madrid line went off the rails due to an incident caused because of heavy rain. From Adif they explained that the high-speed train suffered a front cabin bogie that left the track during its passage through Álora.

Renfe explained that this incident occurred due to a rock fallwhich come from the storm. The 291 passengers are waiting to be transferred to another train en route. An incident which did not cause any injuries.

This is not the only incident recorded, since the circulation of trains in various areas of the province of Malaga remains interrupted due to heavy rain.

Thus, traffic between Gobantes and El Chorro is interrupted due to the weather conditions in the area. Concretely, as detailed, this concerns the conventional gauge trains which run between Córdoba and Malaga.

On the other hand, traffic between Cártama and Álora, on the same route, is also interrupted for this reason. Likewise, it was established an alternative transportation plan with road transfers to guarantee the mobility of travelers.

DANA causes extensive damage in Álora, Málaga

Intense rains recorded in Malaga by DANAwhich mainly affect the Guadalhorce valley area, have caused the river to overflow as it passes through Álora, where there are flooded houses, some people stuck in their homes and numerous vehicles swept away by the waters.

The city is “collapsed” and isolated, but there is no news at the moment of bodily injuries, although the situation could worsen if the rain continues in the area, as is the case, as reported local police sources explained to EFE.

The river carries vehicles and has already flooded many farms near its bed, as well as an institute. As Emergency 112 reports, there is a person stuck in their country house because of river overflow in the El Puente neighborhood, another family stuck on a farm near Guadalhorce and a man trapped by the rains in the Isla Hermosa area.

In addition, Roads are affected by falling rocks and water, especially on the A-343 which crosses this city of Malaga. The heavy rains recorded in recent hours in the province of Málaga have left almost 100 liters in the Guadalhorce River, during its passage through Cártama, and more than 80 liters in Álora and Casarabonela, after a night of electrical storm which continually illuminated the darling.

The situation that occurs in Álora can be reproduced in municipalities like Cártama, through which the Guadalhorce River passes. The evolution of the dana meant that emergency alerts were concentrated until 8 a.m. on the coast, then in the capital Malaga and Álora.
