The wave of solidarity between Andalusia and Valencia is undeniable. Civil protection groups from many cities and towns, firefighters, influencers and many anonymous people went to work on the ground to mitigate the effects of DANA in Paiporta and other parts of the Valencian Community. However, last week’s rains also caused serious damage in the province of Malaga, where one death was recorded, and its neighbors are also asking for help and sending a desperate message through the networks: “We need you here too”.
Malaga cities affected by DANA

Álora residents seek help online
Álora is another of the towns in Malaga most affected by DANA. In the Guadalhorce Valley, the rains had a strong impact and caused serious flooding which also interrupted basic services. In this sense, one of the great problems that Álora has had to face in recent days is the lack of drinking water, caused by its turbidity. However, supply has recently recovered.
“In Álora we need help, we also want visibility”express their neighbors through a message broadcast via WhatsApp. Cleaning products, sheets, towels, blankets, clothes, food, pet food and medicine are some of the things most requested by Aloreños through social media.

Two of the main collection points in Álora They are located at the Huellas Lola dog grooming salon, on Carmona street, nº 20, and at Modas Moreno, in Plaza Fuente Arriba, nº 22. Likewise, volunteers who want to come and collaborate in street cleaning can come every morning to . 9:30 a.m. at the Civil Protection base, where a distribution by groups of volunteers to help in different parts of the city of Malaga.
How to help in the Guadalhorce Valley
The solidarity of Malaga residents with those affected by the DANA floods has been exemplary, especially in the Guadalhorce Valley, where cleaning products, non-perishable foods and basic necessities are needed. To contribute, various collection points in Malaga the capital and its surroundings, where donations can be dropped off. Volunteers organized through WhatsApp groups are working tirelessly to distribute materials to the most affected areas, such as Álora, Cártama and Valle de Abdalajís.
