Mallorca promotes the future of responsible tourism

He Majorca Councilin collaboration with the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), organizes the III Sustainable Destinations Summitwhich will take place on the days October 17 and 18 of 2024 in the Hotel Zoetry Majorca.

The President of the Government, Marga Prohens and the president of the island institution, Llorenç Galméswill be responsible for opening the Summit and executive director of UN Tourism, Zoritsa Urosevićwill offer a Opening speech to welcome.

The Executive Minister of Tourism, Marcial Rodriguezwill open the second day, which will also include a presentation of Andy StalmanCEO and co-founder of Totem Branding, and the participation of Gustavo Alvarado ChavelChair of the UN Tourism Committee on Tourism and Sustainability as a panelist.

This international event will bring together eminent decision-makers, experts and opinion leaders from the field of tourism and related sectors, with a common objective: move forward as allies towards a more sustainable futurenot only in tourism, but in all social and economic areas.

The summit is structured around different panels and interventions featuring senior representatives of entities of great international importance such as Atlantic Sustainable Tourism Observatory, Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Austrian Department of Tourism Affairs, Inter-American Development Bank, Thompson Okanagan Tourism Association (TOTA) Canada, World Health Organization for Europe (WHO), World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, UNDP Malaysiaamong others.

Likewise, it will have tourist entities, tourist groups, associations and companies such as Annals of Tourism Research, Alpitour Group, ASPAYM, Brain&Code, Costa Rica Institute of Tourism, Islandic Tourist Board, FEHM, Futouris, LifeAdaptCalaMillor, Malta Tourism Authority, Nature Metrics, TUI Group, Turespaña, Turismo de Islas Canarias, Travel Tech2 or Visit Berlinamong others.

The summit program was designed to address the challenges and opportunities that tourism destinations face in their transformation towards sustainability. Over the two days of the event, keynotes, panel discussions and interviews will take place to explore key topics, encouraging dialogue and cooperation between participants.
