The public prosecutor thus reduced his request for a sentence to ten years in prison – it was initially 14 years – after having assessed the extenuating circumstance of drunkenness. The accused must also pay compensation of 91,000 euros to the victim’s mother.
The man, of 44 years old and Guatemalan nationalityalso accepted that once he reached the third level of prison he would be expelled from Spanish territory.
The events occurred in the early hours of Saturday August 26, 2023, in the house they shared, on Frana de S’Arracó street, in the municipality of Andratx.
According to investigations carried out by the Civil Guard, the two men argued and the accused stabbed his roommate, 29 years old and of Argentine nationality, in the chest with a kitchen knife, reports the Europa Press agency.
