The Mossos d’Esquadra are looking for a man who fled this Monday afternoon after cutting off his partner’s hand in the house they shared, according to ‘El Caso’ and confirmed by the ACN agency. The events took place in a house on Paseo de Salzereda, in Santa Coloma de Gramenet (Barcelona).
Police did not provide details about the injury, but said they had identified the man and were looking for him. The Mossos also said the man attacked the woman around 4:30 p.m. The victim was taken to a health center.
The newspaper ‘El Nacional’ reports that the Mossos have activated a special device to arrest the author of the attack, who, according to them, could be hiding in Santa Coloma de Gramenet or in a nearby town.
Authorities say the suspect has been identified and hope to find him soon. The Mossos are also looking for the weapon with which he carried out the attack, which is being treated as a case of gender violence.
