Man arrested for threatening to kill Ione Belarra

The National Police arrested a man for threaten to kill and the sending of several hateful messages to the former Minister of Social Rights and Secretary General of Podemos, Ione Belarra, via the social network Instagram.

He is a resident of Abrera (Barcelona), aged 54 and no criminal recordaccording to the investigative and events chain of Prensa Ibérica newspapers.

The arrest took place at mid Octoberas part of a joint operation by the Provincial Information Brigade of Madrid and Barcelona, ​​according to sources consulted by ABC.

In addition, there are messages from the same individual to other members of the Government such as the President of the Executive, Pedro Sanchezwho would also have been a victim of their attacks, as well as the current MEP of Podemos Irene Monteroformerly Minister for Equality.

The complaint was filed in Madrid and the analysis of the profiles used on different social networks led the agents to Barcelona. After taking his statement, the detainee was released, accused of threatening.
