A resident of Águilas (Murcia) who had established his residence in Gijón was arrested by the Civil Guard as the alleged perpetrator of two violent sexual assaults committed in just six months during the year 2023 in an isolated area of the municipality of San Juan de los Terreros, in Almería.
According to the Civil Guard, the attacks caught the attention of investigators because of the degree of violence used and their level of preparation.
The first of the sexual assaults of which he is accused took place on April 5, 2023 when a man armed with a knife and several ties intimidated and immobilized the victim, who he then transferred, tied up, to a hidden location in next to where the man was. an assault is committed.
Given the location and time of the attack, investigators concluded that the attacker must have been hiding in the surrounding area, “waiting” to approach the victim in the most favorable conditions possible.
Biological samples
The second attack took place according to the same scenario and according to the same operating mode on October 19, 2023.
Investigators, who collected biological samples at the scene of the attacks, obtained “clear and objective indications, as well as scientific evidence” that the perpetrator was the same person and that it could be a resident of Águilas, according to the armed institute.
Finally, on October 21, the alleged attacker was arrested in Gijón, the place where this individual had established his residence and at whose home the Civil Guard intervened with computer and telephone equipment “with new evidence of the facts investigated”.
The detainee was made available to the Gijón Court for custody, which declared his entry into prison unconditional without bail.
