Man barricades himself in and threatens brother-in-law and officers in Fregenal

This afternoon, a man barricaded himself in a house in Fregenal de la Sierra, armed with a large knife and threatening agents of the Civil Guard and the Local Police.

The individual barricaded himself in the family home at around 4 p.m., at the junction of Alájar (popularly known as El Pozo) and Espíritu Santo streets. The officers brought to the scene tried to speak to the individual, without success.

At first it appeared that he had threatened his parents, but that was not the case. In the footage and according to the testimonies of neighbors collected by HOY, he threatens his brother-in-law, who is not present. He shouts about his girlfriend: “She is a traitor,” he says. “I want to talk to my girlfriend and find out where she is.” “Call my brother-in-law because I will kill him.”

“I’m not afraid of death,” he says, heading towards the Civil Guard officers who have arrived at the scene of the incident and who ask him to stop his attitude. “There’s nothing to say,” he shouts at the Civil Guard officers who are walking backwards as the man advances. He is carrying the knife, while the Civil Guards have weapons in their hands pointed at the ground. “Shut up now, calm down,” the officers tell him.

To which he responds: “Get off my fucking street, you fucking bastards.” He yells at them that they won’t take him.

The civil guards insistently ask him to calm down.

The young man carrying the weapon, who lives in Fregenal de la Sierra, a municipality located in the Sierra Suroeste region, an hour and a half drive from Seville or Badajoz, is not a resident of the town.

This is the municipality

It is worth remembering that this street is part of the route set up for the White Night, which should be celebrated today in Fregenal de la Sierra. Due to this incident, the City Council has postponed the placing of the candles that decorate the streets until there is a resolution.
