A 26-year-old Englishman has died in Talavera de la Reina after falling from the Castilla-La Mancha bridge, which he had climbed to create content for social networks.
The Councilor for Citizen Security, Macarena Muñoz, explained that the death occurred when the young man fell while climbing the aforementioned bridge, which “is totally prohibited and which we have reiterated several times that cannot under any circumstances be done.” recalled the councilor, who regretted the sad event, as reported by Talavera town hall in a press release.
The young man was accompanied by another 24-year-old man of English nationality. “As we learned They had come to Talavera to climb the bridge and create content for social networkswhich led to this disastrous and sad result,” he added.
The judge and medical examiner have already removed the body, which they have taken to the funeral home. At 192 meters high, the Castilla-La Mancha Bridge in Talavera de la Reina is the highest cable-stayed bridge in the country.
For their part, sources from the 112 Emergency Service confirmed that the deceased fell while climbing the infrastructure, events which occurred at 7:14 a.m. this Sunday.
