The National Police arrested a man in Vigo after he sprayed his ex-partner with gasoline and set it on firecausing burns to 35% of his body.
The events occurred around 9 am this Saturday at the entrance to the victim’s home, on the Valadares highway. The woman was leaving her house and the man, who he was carrying the flammable liquid in a bottle, He doused it and set it on fire. The victim managed to put out the flames and his screams alerted his family.
After that, the man, with the initials BRR and a resident of Gondomar, went to a nearby bar where, according to the sources of the investigation, he was arrested by the agents, whom he tried to attack with a bottle of beer.
The victim was evacuated to Povisa hospital.with 35% of his body burned and, eventually, she will be transferred to the burns unit of the Juan Canalejo hospital in La Coruña.
The alleged attacker, aged 41, has a criminal record for illegal possession of weapons. In 2010, the Civil Guard opened an investigation into the death of a young woman from a gunshot wound in her home in Gondomar and arrested her boyfriend, who is now arrested in the case.
During this event, the young woman was found dead, shot in the temple, in the bedroom of her house.
