The attacker who stabbed a 60-year-old woman in the neck with a box cutter this morning in the San Blas neighborhood of Madrid is a 50-year-old man with no apparent connection to the victim. The police arrested him just three hours after the incident and are waiting to take a statement from him.
The events took place on September 6 at around 7:30 in the morning, when the victim was walking down Pobladura del Valle Street in San Blas and suddenly the man approached her from behind and stabbed her in the neck. Witnesses immediately notified the police, who sent a team to the scene.
Shortly after, the National Police patrol that immediately went to the scene of the incident found the gun near, a damn cutterand was fully engaged in the search for the attacker while investigating the causes of the attack.
Meanwhile, SAMUR-Civil Protection troops treated the stabbed woman on the spot, on Pobladura del Valle Street, at the corner of Alconera Street, stabilizing the victim and transferring her as a potentially serious patient to the hospital.
Hours later, members of the Madrid police headquarters arrested the alleged perpetrator. A 50-year-old Spaniard who could be charged with serious injuries and even attempted murder.
