Mañueco mobilizes more than 170 soldiers to fight against DANA in Valencia and Castile-La Mancha

The president of the Junta de Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañuecomobilized 172 soldiers to fight against DANA which is ravaging the Valencian Community and Castilla-La Mancha. In an institutional statement after the urgent holding of an extraordinary Government Council to coordinate the aid that the Council will provide, the president of the Regional Executive announced that Castilla y León, through the National Observatory and Coordination of Emergency, puts at the disposal of in the two autonomous communities, 6 helicopters, 13 ambulances, 17 fire engines, 30 trucks, earthmovers and other equipment, with 172 people, among other means.

Mañueco conveyed, on behalf of all Castilians and Leonese, affection and firm and unanimous support to the areas affected by DANAin a particular way, to the sister autonomous communities of Castile-La Mancha and the Valencian Community, as well as solidarity with the victims of this disaster.

“As President of the Junta de Castilla y León and on behalf of all Castilians and Leonese, facing the tragedy that Spain is suffering because of Fort Dana which particularly affects the sister communities of Valencia and Castile-La Mancha , and also Andalusia and Murcia, I wish to offer my most sincere condolences to the deceased and to all my solidarity with the victims of the terrible damage caused by this natural disaster which cost so many lives. I also send my condolences to the family and friends of the victims. I hope for the speedy recovery of the injured and the location of those who remain searching,” said the regional leader.

Mañueco also indicated that his government had contacted the Red Cross to inform you that Castilla y León will assume any costs for transportation, supplies or materials that you may need in the event of your emergency equipment being transferred from your area to the affected areas. “This is a first emergency aid that we are making available to these sister communities, aware of the tragedy they are experiencing and that we share in Castile and León and throughout Spain. We will continue, hand on heart, awaiting developments and we will be there in the future to contribute as much as possible to the recovery work and support of those affected,” he said.
