The Minister of Defense, Marguerite Roblesannounced that Spain would send two air force planes to Beirut this Thursday to evacuate hundreds of Spaniards from Lebanon.
The evacuation plan is prepared for the nearly 350 Spanish citizens who have communicated their desire to be repatriated to Spain, as reported by the minister in an interview on Antena 3.
“Everything is prepared. Obviously, neither Spain nor the Spanish government has ever left any Spanish citizen behind. We did it in Afghanistan, we did it in Niger, we did it in Sudan and we will do it in Lebanon, even though everyone is aware of the airspace situation, the Spanish planes are prepared and the crews are ready,” he explained.
