The first vice-president of the Government and Minister of Finance, Maria Jesus Monterowas more explicit this Friday from Cadiz that the day before at the podium of the Congress of Deputies about the agreement sealed this summer between the PSC and the ERC for unique funding for Catalonia.
In statements to journalists, he clarified that the agreement contemplate, for the moment, transfer the collection of income tax to the Catalan administration. Extend it to the rest of the taxes “there is a vocation”, but specifying that this will be done”gradually, over the years, over time“.
However, the aforementioned text signed by both parties literally indicates that it will be the Catalan Tax Agency. the one who manages, collects, liquidates and controls all taxes, with the exception of those of a local nature. In other words, they do not consider this as a “vocation”, but as a fact.
However, the minister stressed that “at the moment what we have is personal income tax, which is in the agreement” and that the rest is not decided, without giving a deadline.
