María del Mar Blanco, deputy of the Popular Party and sister of Miguel Ángel Blanco, accused Pedro Sánchez of having “taken advantage” of ETA members despite the “yes” of the PP. During the session in the Senate where the judicial reform which will benefit more than forty members of ETA was ratified, the “popular” underlined that since its formation “they have asked for forgiveness” and that what the president of the government must do is “resign”.
Blanco assured that “Otegui dictates and Sánchez obeys and executes” and said that “we apologized” for supporting “the hidden and calculated maneuver with which the government unfortunately slipped” into reducing sentences for years in prison in France.
“We asked for forgiveness and give room for maneuver to the government, which still has time to apologize for having given votes in exchange for blood. They will remain silent and give in again and they will do it dutifully. That’s what’s different between you and us. What is nauseating is not withdrawing the project despite the desperate cries of the victims. Be courageous and recognize that the text is the consequence of a hidden pact”, expressed the ‘popular’.
He also declared that the PSOE offers the “key to impunity” to ETA terrorists and that the judicial reform approved on September 18 in Congress “opens the wounds of the victims those who do not let us suffer in peace.” Blanco wanted to emphasize that “something is wrong when the heirs of ETA laugh, while the victims cry out for decency”.
On the other hand, he wondered if the PSOE was defending the dignity of ETA victims: “But, what dignity? That of Txapote? Just hearing his name disgusts me, but it benefits Sánchez to continue at Moncloa. Indignity of living on our knees and lack of scruples on the part of the government. They accuse this party of being nostalgic for ETA, look me in the eyes and tell me.” It should be emphasized that the “popular” indicated that Txapote will be one of the beneficiaries when the ETA member will not have his sentence reduced and will be released from prison in 2031.
Finally, the “popular” asked the Executive to “go back and remove the project” and that if they do not do so, they are “solely responsible” for reducing sentences. » “It’s not politics. Not everything is happening and you should know that. Corruption and conspiracies are not worth it. The only thing left for Sánchez is to resign. The PP will always continue to defend those who gave their lives for democracy,” he concluded.
