The Mossos d’Esquadra arrested a 51-year-old teacher on Friday Marist Sants-Les Corts Barcelona for an alleged sexual assault on a former student of the educational center, as informed sources explained to Europa Press this Wednesday.
The arrest took place after receiving a complaint for alleged sexual assault 10 years agoand sources from the Champagnat Foundation and the Consorci d’Educació de Barcelona explained that separated the professor preventively and the “serious abuse in an educational context” protocol was activated.
In addition, the educational center has the support of the psychopedagogical counseling and guidance teams and the Barcelona Educació Consortium.
In a statement, the foundation and the school expressed their “total willingness” to collaborate with the investigating authorities to clarify the facts as soon as possible.
The foundation also informed the educational community of the center of the case and stressed that, since 2011, the Marists have been developing and implementing a protocol for the prevention and protection of children in schools.
