Maritime Rescue escorts canoe with 40 people spotted by commercial ferry to Tenerife

The precarious vessel was four nautical miles from the Los Cristianos dock

A maritime rescue team escorted to the dock at Los Cristianos, on the island of Tenerife, a cayuco with around 40 people on board which was sighted by a ferry from the Fred Olsen Express travel company.

At 6:20 p.m. local time, the crew of the Salvamar Alpheratz was mobilized following the observation by a Benchijigua Express ferry of a precarious boat four nautical miles away from the Los Cristianos quay, as reported by Salvamento Marítimo.

Until then, he accompanied Cayuco maritime rescuewhich made landfall at 7:30 p.m. local time. After the rescue, the company thanked the collaboration of the ferry and a fishing boat, the “Moby Dick”, for giving the warning after spotting the boat.
