Massive fight over song order in Masalli

Munis Alibeyli, born in 1996 in Masalli region, injured Nemat Rustamov during a dispute over personal relations.

According to Demokrat.az, when Munis was in the tea house run by an acquaintance located on “Azerbaijan” Avenue in Masalli city, Nemat, a resident of Bala Tekla village, Masalli district, whom he did not know before, found him inconsiderate and prejudiced towards himself and towards the people around him.

Munis had a verbal argument with Nemet inside the tea house. At that time, his acquaintances who were around him separated them and went to Nemet, who came out of the tea house, and argued with him in front of the tea house. He insulted him.

After that, Munis used force against Nemet and deliberately hit him once in the nose area. He fell to the ground and suffered injuries of varying severity.

221.1 of the Criminal Code against Munis, who committed the incident (vandalism, i.e. serious violation of public order, open lack of respect for society, use of force on people or threat to use such force, as well as accompanied by harmful destruction or damage to another’s property) was announced under the article.

According to Nemat, who testified as a victim in the criminal case, he met his fellow villagers Kanan, Narsir and Qasim on the road and offered them to drink tea together.

“Because those people agreed to my proposal, we went to the tea house together. After reaching the tea house, music was played there and we danced. Our dance had a bad effect on Munis and those with him. Due to this, a dispute arose between us and we fought.”

Nemat said that at that point their discussion lasted between 3 and 5 minutes:

“At the tea house, I saw 25 to 30 people sitting at separate tables, drinking tea and beer and listening to music. Later, when we wanted to leave, one of those people told me, ‘Behave yourself.’ I paid the bill and went out into the courtyard of the tea house. Then they kicked me, Munis punched me and I fell to the ground. After that, my fellow villagers Qasim, Nasir and Kanan came to me and asked who shot me. I said I will know when I see them.”

Munis, who testified as a defendant in the case, pleaded guilty to the charges against him.

According to him, Nemet had an argument with him at that time:

“Later, I argued with Tarlan. When Nemat argued with me, we pushed each other. However, I did not hit Nemat. Neither inside the cafe nor outside. Although we had an argument with Nemat, we did not swear at each other. I do not know what happened outside the cafe. Ola Nemat said that I hit him because of the fog. According to my friends, the argument between Nemat and me was related to the sound of music. When I came out of the cafe, I saw him lying on the ground.”

The criminal case was heard in the Masalli District Court. According to the court’s verdict, Munis was sentenced to three months of correctional labor and the state will deduct 10 percent of his monthly income.
