“Mater Fest”, the first free Christian music festival, arrives in Talavera

The Councilor for Culture of Talavera de la Reina (Toledo), Enrique Etayo, in collaboration with the Pro-Vicar General and Episcopal Vicar for Consecrated Life, Raúl Muelas, presented this Thursday the 1st edition of the Mother’s Daya Christian music festival, which will take place on September 6that 9:00 p.m. on the shores of the lake in La Alameda Park in Talavera de la Reina.

This first edition of the Mater Fest, organized by the Center of the Catholic Association of Propagandists (ACDP) of Talavera and the Local Autonomous Organization of Culture, will feature artists of the stature of Jaqui Lin, Presencia Project, AAIRA Band, La Voz del Desierto, León Martínez and the Pilgrims of Mary.

Etayo stressed that this event “which aims to become an annual reference, wants to unite the Christian community in a festive environment full of spirituality and entertainment,” while inviting all citizens to participate.

“We consider this to be a new and very important activity, we believe that we must support all types of cultural activities, whatever their type,” Etayo said.

For his part, the vicar general and episcopal vicar for consecrated life, Raúl Muelas, stressed that “it is something that our particular church of Toledo is very passionate about”, emphasizing that it is “a public celebration in favor of the family and life, joy and coexistence”, within the framework of the festivities in honor of the patron saint of the city, the Virgen del Prado.

“It is very important that we not only defend what is ours internally, but also by going out into the streets and offering something festive and joyful to society,” he insisted.

Before concluding, Muelas defended that “theChristian music is not boring music and the Mater Fest will serve to say that this is not the case.

Please note that this free festival will have a space for people with reduced mobility, as well as for the elderly.

In addition to the musical part, the Mater Fest will also offer different activities for all audiences, as well as two food trucks.

Ignacio Rodríguez representing the ACdP and Anabel Melchor representing the Group of Pilgrims of Mary also participated in the presentation.
