Mayor Hiroshima Critic Trump compares attacks on Iran with atomic bombs in Japan

Hiroshima – The mayor of Hiroshima Kazumi Matsui criticized the President of the United States (USA) Donald Trump for his comments, comparing American attacks on Iran nuclear places with nuclear bombs in Japan during World War II. Matsui considers Trump not to understand atomic bombs.

Speaking on Wednesday (2/7/2025), Matsui argued: “Trump does not fully understand the reality of the atomic bomb, which, if you use them, ends the life of many innocent citizens, regardless of whether they are friends or opponents, and threaten the survival of humanity”, according to Japan.

He invited the US leader to visit the city to find out more.

Last week, Trump defended the US attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, which founded the action as an extraordinary demonstration of the military authorities intended to accelerate conflict resolution of 12 days between Israel and Iran.

The conflict began after the Israeli attack on Iran’s nuclear program.
