Mazón announces new tax cuts and the construction of 1,500 social housing units in the Valencian Community

“There are no deductions here for Lamborghinis, but rather for buying glasses and going to the dentist.” Cloak and dagger, during a vast intervention without time limit that lasted more than three hours, he defended point by point his model of “Government of change» the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, in his first General policy debate in the regional parliament. The “popular” leader announced, among other measures, new tax breaks and the imminent construction of 1,500 public housing units.

There is nothing left. Mazón has reviewed absolutely each of the steps taken in these last 60 weeks by the departments that make up his regional executive and has launched a battery of proposals and initiatives for the next political year, in which access to housing will become a fundamental pillar of government action, in collaboration with municipal and provincial councils.

In this regard, Mazón announced that the Generalitat would launch a call for tenders before the end of the year for a total of 1,500 social housing units protected spaces that will be built on public land offered by the municipalities adhering to the VIVE Plan, 40% of which will be reserved for young Valencians.

During the plenary session, the “popular” president explained that 220 municipalities of “all political colours” have already joined the Live Package“which will represent the largest social housing project in the last decade.” Thus, he highlighted among the objectives of the Council “access to decent housing” and stressed that the Generalitat, through its initiative, will mobilize “the greatest possible amount of public land to, through public-private collaboration, benefit more than 20,000 people.

He also stressed that it will generate more than 7 billion euros in investments, with a 2% impact on GDP over the next three and a half years. He stressed that the plan will generate “around 70,000 jobs, direct and indirect, and will allow the collection of VAT that will exceed 400 million euros.” Likewise, he is proud of the guarantee program of the Valencian Institute of Finance (IVF) to facilitate access to cincome for youth housing between 18 and 45 years old has received 1,000 requests since its launch, at a rate of 17 requests per day, which “are already being processed”.

“Having a housing policy – he continued – means reducing the price of housing by 25%. Transfer tax to young people under 35, to large and single-parent families, to disabled people and to women who are victims of gender-based violence. This is the housing policy. All of them have already been able to benefit from this reduction and have saved 13.3 million euros so far this year, which is an average saving per household for those who need it most of 1,282 euros,” he stressed.

New tax deductions

On the tax front, the regional president announced new deductions for income ceilings of 30,000 euros in individual declarations and 47,000 euros in joint declarations. Among them, those corresponding to the birth and adoption of children, as well as to promote work-life balance and to acquire school supplies.

Mazón guaranteed that during the rest of the legislature “the the biggest tax reform in Spain” initiated by his Council “for medium and low incomes” and assured that it will be possible to increase revenues while lowering taxes thanks to the creation of jobs.

In his initial speech, he rejected opposition criticism of an “alleged tax cut for wealthy Valencians.” “Although they repeat this lie, no deduction for buying Lamborghinis, but for buy glasses, play sports or go to the dentist“.

Specifically, he broke down the tax deductions at the birth of children, which will double from 300 to 600 euros if it is the first, to 750 for the second and 900 if it is the third, whose deductions will go to the foster families. On the sidelines, he also said that will reduce 60% the real estate transfer tax for agricultural properties and that no fisherman will pay port taxes from January 1.
