Carlos Mazon, President of the Generalitat Valenciana, announced this Sunday afternoon the creation of five “immediate intervention groups” to accelerate the intervention and respond to the most urgent needs after the passage of the DANA, which left at least 207 dead in the Valencian Community. Mazón said that these groups will be led by different advisors of the Autonomous Government and requested the immediate incorporation of seven ministers of the National Executive and the head of the National Executive. Defense Staff (Jemad). He also announced a raft of economic and labor aid to keep businesses and workers affected by the storm’s devastation afloat.
THE “five crisis response groups” announced by the Valencian president will cover the areas of health, infrastructure, social services and housing, employment and business, and interior. The objective of these groups will be to carry out recovery plans to help all those affected and recover all the damages caused by the passage of DANA.
The first of these “immediate intervention groups” will have the mission of avoiding epidemics, taking into account the existing risk due to the accumulation of mud, water and decomposing biological material. Avoiding epidemics has become a health priority.
Likewise, Mazón demanded that the Ministry of the Interior send more agents of the Corps and State Security Forces to the area to combat looting, theft and plundering of establishments and homes. In this regard, he also demanded that the law be applied with the greatest severity against the perpetrators of these crimes.
