Carlos Mazón has chosen Army Lieutenant General Francisco José Gan Pampols to assume the vice-presidency of the Valencian Government for Economic and Social Recovery, as confirmed by laSexta. This vice-presidency, as the Generalitat Valenciana explains, was created “to centralize all the actions of the Consell” aimed at recovery in Valencia, especially in affected municipalities by the devastating DANA of October 29.

A profile very focused on defense
Lieutenant General Francisco José Gan Pampols (Figueras, 1958) entered the General Military Academy (Zaragoza) in 1975 and, during his career, he rose through the ranks to the rank of Lieutenant General in 2016. Currently, is retired for having reached the regulatory age.
The Generalitat emphasizes in its press release that among his “many responsibilities” in the military field, among others, his appointment in 2009 as director of the General Military Academyposition which he held until March 2013. Finally, Gan Pampols is in possession of “various civil and military decorations; these include the Grand Cross of Military Merit, the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Civil Guard and the Royal and Military Order of Saint-Herménégille, as well as another ten white crosses merit.”
