The executive of Carlos Mazón entrusted the repair of a dam seriously damaged by DANA to a businessman convicted in the Gürtel affair who confessed to having financed the “B fund” of the Valencian PP. This is an emergency contract of 3.9 million euros, by negotiated procedure without advertising, awarded to the company Becsa SA by the Department of Agriculture, Water, Livestock and Fishing led by the popular Miguel Barrachina.
This is not the only emergency contract obtained by Becsa. The Minister of Environment, Infrastructure and Territory, Vicente Martínez Mus, also awarded the company the work on the Cheste section of the CV-50 highway, as elDiario.es learned from sources in the regional department. However, the amount of the award is unknown as it has not yet been published on the Contracts Platform. The regional administration has one month to make the contract public. Becsa also obtained provincial contracts for road repairs after the disaster from the Provincial Deputation of Valencia, notably for the demarcation of Bétera and Serra, for a total amount of 1.5 million euros.
