The president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, announced the creation of a vice-presidency for recovery economic and social after the DANA of October 29, which will bring together all the departments, and announced that it would devote a new exclusive portfolio to the management of EMERGENCIES which strengthens disaster prevention.
This was confirmed by the head of the Consell after more than two hours of speeches to the Valencian Courts to report on his management of the flood which, on March 29, devastated dozens of villages and left 216 dead and 16 disappeared. Mazón confirmed that the new stage of his government will be focused on “promote the culture of urgency“.
The president indicated the creation of a new vice-presidency for economic and social recovery, in which all the departments of the Generalitat Valenciana will be integrated, whose mission will be to coordinate resources and harmonize the decisions of the Executive “to build a new future.” based on “a new dynamic, modern and efficient structure”.
“The new vice-presidency will be the gateway to new projects, it will house SMEs, self-employed workers and families. “We will not only rebuild what has been lost but we will build a future that will allow us to better face future adversities,” admitted the “popular” leader.
At the same time, it announced the launch of a Department of Emergency and Interiorwith the first exclusive competence outside of Justice, for the first time in the organizational scheme of the Generalitat Valenciana. “It will be exclusively intended to protect and ensure the security of citizens,” he explained.
“Current times – Mazón reflected – demand that we be ready to act in a matter of minutes. “This way we will guarantee coordination to do it quickly and accurately, we will respond by minimizing risks and creating protocols.” However, during his speech, the president did not give the names of the people who will occupy these future high command positions within the Generalitat.
