The President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, will meet in two weeks, on Friday, October 4, with the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, in a meeting Andmeeting in Moncloa which will serve to address the financing of the Valencian Community, the dependency debt and the Tajo-Segura transfer, among other issues.
In statements to the media after the presentation of the Viaja +65 program, the “popular” leader was asked if he already had a date for the meeting with Sánchez and about the meeting he will hold next week with the President of Andalusia Moreno Bonilla. will demand multilateralism to tackle the financing system.
Mazón announced that he would attend the meeting with Pedro Sánchez, that there was already a date and that it would be “soon”, but leaving it to Moncloa to announce the day of the meeting. Likewise, he stressed that “in addition to financing” he had other issues to discuss and, in particular, he explained that “first of all” he would “remind you that he owes us 3.5 billion euros of dependency” and “1 billion health care for displaced people” per year.
Furthermore, Mazón will let Sánchez know that he “owes” the Valencian Community “25 political cuts in the transfer of the Tajo Segura“, the aid to ceramics and the ecological wealth of the Albufera de Valencia that “promised it to us and denied it to us”. Thus, he promised that he would “talk about everything that the Valencian Community needs”, but he will not accept “in a dark room, no, because I do not need to hide”.
At the same time, he said he believed in multilaterality to address the financing and indicated that he did not need to hide or go “into a dark room of privileges to demand what belongs to the Valencian Community”, “nor seek to annoy others”.
“We are able to demand to the last penny of what corresponds, demonstrating that it is also good for Spain, without demonstrating the opposite, a singular financing, a particular quota, a privilege against the others”, he stressed.
“We don’t blackmail anyone”
In this regard, he assured that from the Valencian Community “we do not blackmail anyone because we do not want to be more than anyone.” “No privileges over anyone, but we are not going to tolerate being inferior to anyone, not even one minute more, not one cent more,” he added.
Regarding the meeting with Moreno BonillaMazón indicated that the Valencian Community and Andalusia are united by “many things”, such as “the underfunding “surprising humiliation to which the Spanish government subjects us” and having “many more problems than others in public health, dependency, social services, public education with our conviction of response.”
