Medvedev – on NATO attacks on the Russian Federation

The vice president of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, stated that the use of tactical ballistic and cruise missiles by NATO countries against Russia will be considered aggression by the entire alliance. He stressed that such actions could lead to a Russian retaliatory attack using weapons of mass destruction, which would be the beginning of World War III.

Medvedev noted that such strikes give Russia the right to launch retaliatory strikes against key NATO facilities, regardless of their location, as well as against kyiv. In his comment on Telegram, he called US President Joe Biden’s decision to allow such actions “a worthy exit from the scene,” implying that the US leader is deliberately escalating the conflict, which threatens the entire world.

He also suggested that the current US administration could be pursuing a plan that is intentionally leading to global conflict. According to Medvedev, the consequences of such a policy will have to be eliminated by the next US administration, probably Donald Trump’s team.

Medvedev noted that the new edition of the Fundamentals of Russian State Policy in the Field of Nuclear Deterrence, approved by the President of Russia, allows the use of NATO missiles to be classified as an attack on the country, with the consequent right to use them . nuclear weapons.

According to him, although such missiles are not capable of significantly influencing the course of hostilities, their use has important informational and propaganda value. He stressed that Russia will not ignore such provocations and that the escalation of the conflict could have catastrophic consequences.

Previously, Kursor reported that Ukraine, according to media sources, first attacked ATACMS ballistic missiles on Russian territory. They were given permission to do so in the United States, although State Department representatives did not comment on this information.
