Meloni announces he will travel to Beirut to denounce “unjustifiable” attacks by Israel against peacekeepers

The Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloniwho yesterday led a counter-summit on migration on the sidelines of the European Council held in Brussels, will make the trip Friday in Lebanon. “Unacceptable”

Israeli attacks on UNIFIL positions, some against
installations with the presence of Italian soldiers. “I don’t think it’s possible
considered acceptable,” said Meloni, who assured that he had conveyed the same position to his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu.

In the President’s view, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have
incurred as part of a “blatant violation” of Security Council Resolution 1701
UN Security Council and “demanded” that the security of the
military. In his speech, Meloni also condemned the militias’ current threats against the Israeli state.
