Mercadona rescued a classic product from the 80s and 90s from oblivion and put it back on its shelves a few weeks before celebrating Halloween. This is the “Count Dracula” candy, with its incomparable cherry flavor, which has delighted several generations, including those who followed basic general education (EGB).
A novelty that has become viral on social networks thanks to the publication of the well-known account “I went to EGB” and this revolutionized all his supporters. “Great,” “how delicious” and “I can’t believe it” were some of the reactions to the candy Mercadona collected.
“Classic Count Dracula candy arrives to celebrate Halloween with its unmistakable cherry flavor. Small sweets with an intense taste, perfect for sharing,” explains the supermarket chain chaired by Juan Roig on its website.
With a price of 1.35 euros packaging, El Conde Drácula candies are made by Caramelos Cerdán, a company located in Torre Pacheco (Murcia), which is one of its main manufacturers and with a history of more than a century.
They are distinguished by their cherry flavor and its hard touch, identical to the candies that captivated children and adults decades ago in Spain. The packages weigh 125 grams and among the product ingredients are sugar, glucose syrup, citric acid acidifiers, flavors and carrot and safflower concentrate.
In parallel, Mercadona already preparing the campaign Halloween and that’s why she’s created a selection of treats that, she warns, should always be consumed in moderation. Among them is the Halloween assortment, Boo! Mix, Candy Skewers, Boca Fruit, Pop Eye, Dentures, Monster Candies, as well as assortments of chocolates, lollipops and mini Halloween pizzas.
