During the control session, the socialist spokesperson, Juan Lobato, questioned the president about her housing policy: “I accuse her of having promised to build 25,000 housing units and of not having delivered even 500 in five years,” he denounced. His accusations don’t stop there: “I accuse him of boycotting the government law on housing.”
On this occasion, after the internal war in the PSOE in Madrid was postponed to the party’s federal congress, Ayuso preferred not to make too much noise about Lobato’s situation within his political formation. He limited himself to defending himself against the accusations of the socialist spokesperson by attacking the PSOE as a whole: “They want for others what they do not want for themselves.” He mentioned immigration, but also housing.
Ayuso accused the PSOE of “pitting tenants against owners” and ensuring that “if in Spain and Madrid someone has accommodation, they are suspicious”.
“If it’s the Minister of Housing who has several, keep quiet. If he’s an ultra-left man who has several, keep quiet too. But if there is someone in Spain who owns a property, it is a rich suspect who must be prosecuted and his apartment must intervene,” warned the president.
