Members of the Mexican army and National Guard detained in the western city of Guadalajara, Armando ‘N’, aka ‘Delta 1’ or ‘Máximo’identified as the alleged leader of Jalisco Next Generation Cartel (CJNG) in Michoacán and Jalisco.
The National Defense Secretariat (Sedena) reported this evening in a statement that The capture was carried out without the use of violenceas part of the Federal Government’s 100 Day Plan to tackle insecurity and reduce violence in the country.
Armando ‘N’ is identified as the third commander of the CJNG in the Guadalajara metropolitan area and responsible for the organization’s expansion into the state of Michoacán.
According to the Sedena press release, the detainee was a “generator of violence” who controlled criminal operations in the Puente Grande prison complex, where he coordinated the hitman cell known as “Los Deltas”.
This group is described as extremely violent, involved in murder, kidnapping and extortion activities in Jalisco and outside the state.
La Sedena highlighted that Armando “N” and “what was assured”, without specifying further details, were made available to the Attorney General’s Office (FGR), which will determine the legal situation of the detainee and continue the investigations corresponding. .
The operation was carried out with strict respect for human rights, according to Sedena.
