The President of the Council of the European Union, Charles Michel, called for a just and inclusive transition in his message on the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).
Oku.Az reports that a Belgian politician mentioned this on the social network “X”.
“Our collective struggle is of existential importance. We must choose survival instinct over collective suicide. At the same time, we must take steps for a just and inclusive transition,” he wrote.
The senior EU official stressed that the European community is ready to accept this challenge.
Our collective fight for the climate is existential.
We must choose the survival instinct over collective suicide. And take measures for a just and inclusive transition.
