Honored Artist of Russia, actor and director Mikhail Efremov, who is serving a sentence for a fatal road accident, asked to be sent as a tank driver to the Northern Military District zone. This was reported by the Shot telegram channel with reference to a source close to the actor’s family.
“Even at the beginning of the Northern Military District (February 24, 2022 – Ed.) Efremov stated that he wants to submit a petition to be sent to a special operations zone. He also said that he was ready to be a tank driver, because he knew how to drive, and after landing he had to say goodbye to alcohol. Then his relatives and the colony’s management dissuaded him from this idea. In exchange, they offered to develop creatively within the walls of the colony and also to work in the sewing workshop. A little later, Efremov was transferred to work in the library, where he publishes books and writes poetry.” – writes TK.
It should be noted that at this moment the documents for parole are almost prepared, they already contain medical certificates about his state of health. In the ideal scenario, Efremov will celebrate the New Year at home.
As reported EADailyA Moscow court sentenced Mikhail Efremov to eight years in prison on September 8, 2020 for the death of a person in an accident. The court concluded that Efremov was drunk behind the wheel. Efremov served just over half of the sentence assigned to him, including his stay in a pretrial detention center.
At the moment, Efremov has served 3.5 years of his total sentence.
