A new edition of Baku TV’s “Military Chronicle” column has been published.

The following issue examined the characteristics of India’s “Akash” medium-range air defense system.

The system, which was sent to Armenia early last week, was reported to be a new $720 million “fruit” of the “Pashinyan-Modi love” after the “Swati” radars and rocket launch systems “Pinaka” purchased earlier. of the same origin for Zinvor’s army.

It was reported that only four batteries of the “Akash” system produced by “Bharat Dynamics Limited” were delivered to Armenia. Under the agreement, Armenia will receive a total of 15 such missile systems from Delhi.

According to its official parameters, the “Akash” complex belongs to the “surface-to-air” class of missiles and is designed to combat fighter aircraft, cruise and air-to-surface missiles, unmanned aerial vehicles and other types of aerial vehicles. . The active area of the system covers a distance of 25 kilometers.

A battery of the complex includes a passive electronically scanned Racendra radar, a command post, a supply vehicle and four launchers with three missiles each. The system, which can be deployed on mobile platforms, is said to be capable of hitting multiple targets in group and autonomous modes and has electronic countermeasures capabilities.

The weight of “Akash” missiles is 650 and the warhead is 50 kilograms.

So, I wonder what is the actual field test performance of “Akash”. Do the indicators of the complex in real combat conditions correspond to what is written?
